Shootin' with the Sisters

Why should the kids have all the fun at Camp Howard?  This September, after all the campers have left, come spend an afternoon trap shooting and fishing with Sisters Krista, Michael Francine, and Adele Marie.  Trap shooting, the sport of shooting clay pigeons with a shotgun, is actually an Olympic sport, and Camp Howard has the setup and all the equipment.  We will start off our time with a barbeque lunch and then spend some time Trout fishing in the stocked pond, (your fish will be cleaned, wrapped and ready to go home with you). A tour of the beautiful grounds too. Have a "blast" with the Sisters in this adult-only afternoon of sport and good times. Transportation will be provided on a VCS bus, just like the kids!

Mother/Daughter "Tiger's Curse" Author Party

Meet “the next JK Rowling,” Colleen Houck, at this exclusive book party and discussion for mothers and daughters.  “Tiger’s Curse” is Ms. Houck’s first novel in a series of five.  Her second book, “Tiger’s Quest,” will be released on June 7, and Ms. Houck will have advanced copies to sign for everyone.

Her books are classified as young-adult and are recommended for readers in grades 7-12. Set in India, the books are page-turners that are part fantasy, part adventure, and part love story.  You and your daughter(s) will love them!

This party will be exciting to both avid readers and aspiring writers, particularly because the author self-published before she was picked up by a publisher.  Be among the first to not only know about, but actually meet and mingle with an up-and-coming superstar author.
