KD Class Project –We Fit Together Like Pieces of a Puzzle
Like their friends in KB, the children of the KD class generate star-struck attention from an adoring audience for whatever they attempt, because everything about them is adorable! For their class project the children contributed their famous artistic talents to create a unique, custom-cut jigsaw puzzle. They drew self-portraits in bright, happy colors, flaunting special features such as ear-to-ear grins and round polished button eyes. These delightful pictures were then assembled together with other images such as the convent’s famous dome, a cross, an eagle, and a monkey to form a gorgeous collage. Professionally and artfully cut by Bella Puzzles, this exceptional item is destined to become a family heirloom.

KB Class Project – Buzz’s Movie Time
They may be one of the youngest classes of VCS, but their star power is certainly high voltage! The KB class proudly presents a Hollywood-themed package designed to give your family a terrific time at the movies—right in your own home! Of course, the experience of “going to the movies” has no oomph unless popcorn and goodies are involved. To provide said “oomph” factor, a family-size popcorn maker, hand-decorated ceramic popcorn bowl and goodie/beverage tray are offered. Measuring 2.5’ high and 1’ wide all around, the popcorn maker is compact but hard working. Crafted of high-quality ceramic, the popcorn bowl and tray are adorned with the children’s fingerprints assembled to look like Buzz the Bee, a legendary class favorite. The cheerful colors will inspire many memorable family moments as you kick back to “Ooh!” and “Aah!” over the professionally-created movie that captures the children’s precious Kindergarten year. Alone these items are award-worthy, but combined with the included Buzz Movie Critics’ Book (in which each child describes his or her favorite movie), some all-time children’s favorite movies and yummy treats, this presentation will be catapulted to superstardom status. It is sure to have doting parents and grandparents scrambling for their bid paddles, so get yours ready!

1F Class Project – Starry, Starry Night
They may only be in first grade, but these stars prove they are worth their mettle by accomplishing an ambitious and awe-inspiring masterpiece. The children of 1F created their own rendition of Van Gogh’s magnum opus, The Starry Night. Composed of sections from individual mini-masterpieces hand painted by the students and their teacher, the framed picture measures 35” by 28”. Almost the size of the original (which hangs out of reach in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City), this one can be yours to admire! Each swirl and brush stroke of muted brilliance evidences intense concentration as the children try to capture a measure of the famous artist’s wonder at the starry night sky. Included with the painting are original preliminary sketches and photos of the children experiencing their “brush” with artistic genius. This is a wonderful and beautiful work of art for the winning bidder’s home.

2G Class Project – I am Your Mother… I Will Hear Your Prayer
In Catholic catechism one of the brightest “stars” is the Blessed Virgin Mary. In fact, we Catholics think she totally rocks! The children of 2G expressed this reverent sentiment by using their pure, unbridled love of color to create a mosaic painting of Our Lady of Guadalupe on a 30” by 40” canvas. Inspired by a mural in the streets of Mexico City, the traditional painting imparts a wonderful sense of whimsy through the colors of red, black, gold, green and white while the various brown and yellow hues bring coherence to it. Accompanied by a smaller version created on paper, complete with a key to each child’s own section of work and his or her name, this wonderful work of art is testament to the children’s love of the Blessed Virgin.

3C Class Project – We are All Stars
Given the theme of their class project, the parade of stars from 3C would most appropriately take place on green AstroTurf instead of the usual red carpet; they chose to shine the spotlight on their love of sports. Each child painted, on soft batik cotton, a portrait of himself or herself engaging in a favorite sports activity. The portraits were then pieced together to form a star-studded quilted wall hanging. The portraits pop against a background of star-patterned red and blue batik. Measuring a substantial 55” by 65”, the quilt is outfitted with a rod pocket for ease of hanging.

The portraits were created on professional art paper using a variety of media including pastel pencils and artist crayons. Their adorable faces will be forever preserved in these colorful and delightful drawings, which are framed and measure 23” x 27”. Of course, it is only fitting that the star of the children’s hearts, Sr. Barbara Rose, is prominently showcased on the famous dome. This piece is a definite treasure to behold.

4P Class Project - Eat, Drink and Be Merry
If this etched glassware set offered by the class of 4P were a movie, it would surely win an Academy Award for Visual Effects. Each child designed an adorable picture evoking the joyful essence of each of four holidays: Easter, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, and St. Valentine’s Day. The pictures were then meticulously etched onto the sparkling glass, creating beautiful images. Consisting of thirty-two pieces (eight each of white wine, red wine, water, and juice glasses) as well as two beautiful decanters, the set is copious enough to accommodate the entire award-winning cast of 4P and their teacher as they toast their artistic success. Further enhancing the uniqueness of the set is the etched signature of each child on his or her design. This set is a great must-have conversation piece to grace your own star-studded post-Oscars party.
